INTRODUCTION
BlackBerry 10 is a proprietary mobile operating system developed by BlackBerry Limited (formerly Research In Motion) for its BlackBerry line of smartphone and tablet handheld devices. It is based on QNX which was acquired by BlackBerry in April 2010. BlackBerry 10 is the third major release of a QNX based operating system, following the release of BlackBerry Tablet OS with the BlackBerry PlayBook on April 19, 2011, and BlackBerry Tablet OSversion 2.0 on February 21, 2012. BlackBerry 10 and BlackBerry Tablet OS have numerous technical similarities, with BlackBerry 10 providing substantial enhancements over the earlier releases.

On November 12, 2012, Heins announced a January 30, 2013 launch of the BlackBerry 10 operating system and the first smartphones running it. The operating system, as well as two devices, the Z10 (a full touchscreen device), and the Q10 (a device equipped with a physical keyboard), were announced simultaneously around the world on January 30, 2013. The company also announced that the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet would receive an update to BlackBerry 10 later in 2013.

USER INTERFACE
On 1 May 2012, Thorsten Heins, CEO of BlackBerry officially unveiled the BlackBerry 10 platform. The features shown off at the BlackBerry World conference included a unique platform-wide flow interface, a new intelligent keyboard, as well as a camera app which allows the user to adjust the photo or individual faces by moving through time scale to optimize picture quality. The user interface also includes the ability to run 8 "Active Frames". Active Frames are applications that are currently running within the operating system, but minimized and showing a feed of live information on the home screen. The Operating System also features the 'Hub', a list accessible from anywhere in the OS where all notifications including emails, social networking sites and text messages in one complete list.

Gestures
Gestures are largely integrated within the BlackBerry 10, featuring four main gestures for easy navigation. Quick swiping up from the bottom edge of the bezel will result in users returning to the home screen. From there, users can view and close active applications. Users can also swipe from the top edge, to bring down a quick setting shade on the home screen, or an option shade on other supported apps. Also, while using any application, the upside down J-hook (starting from the bottom of the bezel and moving upward and right) allows users to peek at any notifications or messages on the BlackBerry Hub. Finally, swiping left to right (or vice versa) scroll through the available screens.

Multi-tasking
Similar to BlackBerry Tablet OS, BlackBerry 10 OS also supports multitasking with gesture integration. Swiping up from any application brings up the running application screen, which function as an application switcher and a task manager. Users can switch through running applications by tapping on any of the apps or close them by tapping on the ‘X’ on the lower right of the app itself. Some apps also offer widget like functionality, similar to Android. Examples of this include, picture app cycling through a photo album or calendar app showing upcoming events and meetings. Most accessed apps are also view-able to users on this multitasking screen.

2013 Elections
MAY 13

An election is a formal decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is responsible for running the elections.

Every citizen above the age of 18 on Election Day may vote. In order to actually vote, a citizen has to register. The COMELEC has a registration period a few months prior to the election. Those who are not registered will not appear on the voters' list and is ineligible to vote despite being qualified to do so.

Democracy is a means for the people to choose their leaders and to hold their leaders accountable for their policies and their conduct in office.
In a democracy, the people are sovereign—they are the highest form of political authority.

As a citizen of the Philippines and with the right age, I have to do my duties and obligations to help improve our country. In the Philippines, one of the democratic countries in Asia, the Filipino people have the right to possess their rights and every right has a corresponding limitations.

The people have the right to choose and replace the government through free and fair elections. We need to choose the right leaders who will serve as a good representative in our country. One way to improve a democratic country is through choosing the right candidates/leaders. Voting is so powerful, the future of the country lies here. If you vote wisely, for sure it will return a good.

When you are in legal age, you have the right to exercise your power in voting.

Here’s how to. First, you must register in your place to become a voter. Make sure that all the details in the form you filled up are correct. And at the day of the election, you need to go to the place where the location of voting takes place and you need to see your name in the list to vote.

As a first time voter, we need to choose the right candidates who will help to support/improve the lives of people. Candidates who are faithful in serving, responsible, have a good will and most of all, God-fearing.

We need to respect the votes of others.

Many politics nowadays are giving money for them to win, in short, Bribing. We need to vote according to our conscience. Those people we know who have good will to serve the people and are responsible leaders are the best and deserving.

The future of our country lies in our hands. If we vote correctly and wisely, everything in the future will turn out good. We need to think before we take an action. We need to think thoroughly for the best.

DO NOT SELL YOUR VOTE!
BE WISE!

21 Pinoy Peacekeepers are being captive by the Syrian rebels in Golan Heights because of rivalry between Syria and Israel. Request of the rebels is to leave the Al Jamlah by the Syrian Army within 24 hours and if they don’t leave the Al Jamlah, the Pinoy peacekeepers would be permanently captive by the rebels.

According to the rebels, the exchange of the hostage is to leave the Border Village in Al Jamlah by the Syrian Army. The rebel says that if the Syrian Army didn’t leave the Al Jamlah within 24 hours the Pinoy peacekeepers will be permanently captive.

The AFP confirmed that all hostage peacekeepers are all Filipino that deployed in Golan Heights last November. This is the second time that the rebel captive the peacekeepers, and in the second time, the peacekeepers were not released by the rebels and the keys of the cars of the peacekeepers are in the hands of the Syrian rebels.

3 out of 21 peacekeepers are Official Officers. And all soldiers of Armed Forces of the Philippines are being treated well by the Syrian rebels.

The MalacaƱang Palace ensures that the life of the soldiers is not in risk, they are not in danger.

The Syrian Rebels accused the peacekeepers that they are helping the Syrian Government so that they captured.

The UNDOF and Syrian Rebels are continually negotiating for the fast released of the Pinoy Peacekeepers.

The 21 Pinoy Peacemakers were failed to be released by the Syrian rebels in Golan Heights.

The United Nations are trying to continue the on going negotiation for the safety of the captives.

“WE THE UN PERSONNEL HERE ARE SAFE. THEY GIVE US WATER FOR DRINK, DON’T WORRY WE ARE IN SAFE PLACE. TO OUR FAMILY, WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON, WE’RE OKAY HERE. THANK YOU.”

- message of the Pinoy Peacekeepers

The AFP easily accepted the videos as a proof that the soldiers are safe in Syria.
They are giving foods, drinks, etc. which are not the usual treatment for the captives by the capturers.

According to DFA, the release of the soldiers in Syria didn’t happen. But the DFA assures the negotiation of the partners of them for the fast release of the soldiers. They believe that the soldiers will be released as soon as possible.

Currently, there are 333 Pinoy Peacekeepers working in Golan Heights.

KIRAM: The Poorest Sultan In The World

SABAH TENSION

Photocredits: gmanetworks
Four days ago, the scrimmage started between the Sulu Royal Army and Malaysian Forces which at least 60 were killed from both sides.

Many Filipinos working in Sabah are forced to evacuate back in the country in fear that they would be wedged in tension in Sabah.

In existence of this, the President told Sultan Kiram to go into his people and to take down their weapons. The President threatened Sultan Kiram and his Royal Army that he will file a case because of tension they started.

"Huwag namang ubusin 'yung mga kababayan natin dun and huwag din ilagay sa alanganin 'yung 800,000 Pinoys living and working there," According to Hontiveros.

According to Risa Hontiveros and Alan Peter Cayetano, there is a solid basis for the claiming of Philippines in Sabah that needed to undergo in right due process of law.

"Whether it's China or whether it's Malaysia at may claim tayo, we should attack it na pareho. We should be as aggressive and as diplomatic," said by Cayetano.

The Sultanate of Sulu called a unilateral ceasefire and implemented as a cessation of hostilities but still the Malaysia didn’t intact to launch offensive operations.

Not as least 50 were arrested in Sabah connected to suspected supporters of Kiram.

The members of the Sultanate of Sulu in Sabah were at least given a time until midnight for them to leave.

The President is calling the attention of the leaders in Sabah during his prescon to leave the place. According to Dayang Dayang Sitti Jacel Kiram, their decision will be the same. The people in Sabah go their “not to wage war, para hindi manggulo, to settle their peacefully at dahil sa hirap na din na nararanasan ng mga kapatid nating Muslim.” said by Princess Kiram

The Muslim people in Sabah have no intension to take Sabah.

“Ang pangit ng term na AGAWIN” said by Princess Kiram.
If we closely analyze the history of Sabah, the Sabah has never been owned by Malaysia, it is originally owned by Brunei. Now, it was given by Brunei to Sultanato of Sulu as a sort of gratitude, as a thanksgiving of Sultanate of Brunei when the Sultanate of Sulu helps them. So it was never owned by Malaysia, said by Princess Kiram.

The Concern of the Government is maybe it may lead to violence when they didn’t leave Sabah. When the time comes the Sabah people will fight for their lives, they are prepared and accepted what will happen to them. They would fight for their cost, what they are fighting for a very long time. The people in Sabah are free to choose if they will stay or not for that not to be involved anymore, no one volunteers to go. They wanted to fight for the costs until the end.

Princess Kiram is bound by the constitution and its laws including Philippines renouncing war as instrument of national policy. “Hindi naman giyera ang pinunta natin sa Sabah e. Yes, we’re bound by the constitution, Yes, we are bound by the Philippine Law. Sana nga maramdaman namin na parte kami ng Pilipinas, prinoproteksyonan kami ng salili nating Gobyerno, sana lang maramdaman naming ‘yon.” said by Princess Kiram

The Government is studying the possible infractions of the Sultanato.

The Department of Foreign Affairs expressly said that there is no other way to prevent the continual killing of life in Sabah, but to take down the weapons of Raja Muda Kiram’s groups. But according to MalacaƱang, President Aquino is trying to find a peaceful solution to the standoff in Sabah.
